Terms of Use

These terms are between you and Uzair Raza, Oman ("we", "us"), for the Kitchlaxy app and website (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to them.

1. Using Kitchlaxy

You must be at least 16 years old to have an account.
Keep your login safe. You're responsible for what happens in your account.
You can delete your account at any time (Settings → Profile and account → Delete account).

2. Households

The household owner invites and removes members and decides the plan.
Members can see the household's plan, lists and pantry, and send requests.
If the owner deletes their account, the household passes to the member who joined first. If there are no other members, it is deleted.

3. Food safety and allergies: please read

Kitchlaxy suggests meals and checks recipes against the allergies and diets you add, using ingredient names only. It can't know about cross-contamination or what's inside packaged foods, and it can't know every name an allergen goes by.
Always read food labels and use your own judgement. The Service is not medical or dietary advice.
If you choose not to add allergies, the Copilot won't take food allergies into account in its suggestions.
Amounts, cooking times and temperatures in recipes are guidance. Cook food safely and thoroughly.

4. AI features

The Copilot uses AI to understand what you say, type or photograph. It can make mistakes, so check what it adds. Don't send photos of people, or anything you don't want processed.

5. Your content

You own the recipes, photos and text you add.
You give us a licence to store and show them in order to run the Service. If you publish a recipe, other users may see it too.
Only add content you have the right to share, and don't copy other people's recipes or photos without permission.
We may remove content that breaks these terms or the law.

6. Recipes from others

Library recipes come from credited sources (for example TheMealDB) and belong to their owners.
YouTube content belongs to its creators and is shown under the YouTube Terms of Service.

7. Beta

Kitchlaxy is in beta. Features may change, and the Service is free during the beta. Before any paid plan starts, we'll show its price and terms in the app, and you'll choose whether to subscribe.

8. Fair use

Don't misuse the Service, for example by automated access or scraping, trying to break its security, harassing household members, or using it unlawfully. We set fair-use limits on AI features to keep the Service affordable.

9. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service running, but it may sometimes be unavailable.
We may change features. We'll tell you about important changes to these terms in advance.

10. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the consumer law of the country you live in.
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

11. Ending

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.
We may suspend accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms.

12. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Sultanate of Oman. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in.
